Reflection

This weeks’ reflection is from a member of the Scripture Walk team, Judy King.

These days I am having to do most of my enjoyment of nature from
inside my home due to illness. It is not ideal, but I appreciate the
vistas out the windows of my house. This retirement village has been
careful to maintain a lot of green space and trees.

However, one very soothing nature engagement stimulates my
hearing rather than my vision. It is the rain on the corrugated potion of
the roof over my sunroom. The sound engulfs me and relaxes me. It
draws my eyes to look out the window and watch the rain fall. It is
such a powerful, yet peaceful reminder that God controls our natural
world,

Man has been trying to perfect rain prediction for decades with
mixed success, I might add. Here in Florida, I have come to embrace
the realization that the rain will come when it will and will last as long
as it takes and I will adjust accordingly. I love that the sun shines
almost every day, and I love that during the summer some rain will
come almost every day.

Rains and storms are powerful and sometimes dangerous
reminders of who GOD is and the power HE has. Our heavenly Father
can and does use rain to calm and soothe me and I am so thankful for that gift.
